Just a short bicycle ride away, Daniels Park, home to one of Colorado's two buffalo herds, offers picnic facilities and some of the best sunset viewing in the region.

With four full-featured recreation centers, dozens of community parks, miles of trails, and a wealth of playgrounds and picnic areas, residents may have trouble deciding which of their favorite activities to pursue first.

Family friendly means pets, too, and you don't have to venture far to let your dog romp in the company of others. Off-leash areas can be found at Hound Hill at Highland Heritage Park, Diggers at Dad Clark Park, Fido's Field at Foothills Park, and Rover's Run at Redstone Park.

Area schools, part of the award-winning Douglas County School System, include Mountain Vista High School, Mountain Ridge Middle School, Copper Mesa Elementary, and Heritage Elementary. Meanwhile, the ultra-modern Skyridge Medical Center provides a full-suite of state-of-the-art medical services.

The mixed-use Highlands Ranch Town Center and other community commercial districts offer everything from sundries to gourmet foods to haute couture and regional travel is a snap with nearby C-470, I-25, and Light Rail lines providing efficient routes to mountain resorts, Centennial Airport, DIA, and major shopping centers and business parks.
